Installation Instructions
Step 1: Unplug and Disassemble the Dryer
Start by unplugging your dryer from the wall outlet. Next, you will need to remove the top panel of the dryer. To do this, insert a putty knife in the slots on either side and gently pop off the top panel.
Step 2: Remove the Drum and Belt
Once you have taken off the top panel, you will then be able to access the drum. Pull the drum out of the dryer and the belt should come with it. Now you can remove the old belt. Make sure to keep the rolled up shape of the belt as you may need to use this for reinstallation later.
Step 3: Install the new 661570V Whirlpool Dryer Drum Belt
Now that you have removed the old belt, you can install the new one. Take the new belt and loop it around the dryer drum. Once the belt is looped around the drum you can use the roll from the old belt to replicate the same pattern in the new belt. The belt should run around the pulleys and idler to complete its loop.
Step 4: Reassemble the Dryer
Once the new belt has been installed, you can start to reassemble the dryer. Slide the drum back into the main compartment and replace the top panel. Make sure to press firmly in the sides to ensure the top panel is securely in place.
Step 5: Test Dryer
After all the pieces are back together, plug the dryer back into the wall outlet and check for proper operation. Run a few cycles to make sure the dryer is running correctly with the new belt.
