DIY Instructions for Replacing the 279834 Whirlpool Dryer Gas Valve Solenoid Coil Kit, 2PK
1. Unplug your dryer from its power source and turn off the gas supply lines.
2. Remove the front access panel of your dryer with a screwdriver.
3. Locate your existing gas valve solenoid coils, which can be found in the upper left side of the interior of your dryer.
4. Disconnect the leads and terminals from the existing gas valve solenoid coil.
5. Remove the existing gas valve solenoid coils from your dryer by unscrewing two screws that are connected to the gas valve assembly.
6. Obtain the replacement part: 279834 Whirlpool Dryer Gas Valve Solenoid Coil Kit, 2PK.
7. Install the new gas valve solenoid coils by connecting the leads and terminals first, and then mounting them to the dryer with the two screws.
8. Replace the front access panel to the dryer and securely tighten the screws.
9. Turn on the gas supply lines and plug the dryer back into its power source.
10. Test the dryer to ensure that the replacement part is functioning properly.
